Answer: Server: Computers on the network are connected not to each other directly but by powerful computers called a server that provides security to the networks and the road network from one network to another. The server is usually a high-end PC with lots of memory and large storage disks.

 Example: Server name, Database server, print server, File server etc.

 Server function:

 a) Provides centralized storage, storage for multiple users on the network.

 b) Manages a single database and enables multiple users on the network to share access to the same database.

c) It manages one or more printers and receives and processes print requests from any user on the network.

 d) Translates names into network addresses so that computers different from the network can communicate.
